Today, our students from Grades 4-5 and Grades 6-8 participated in an informative and engaging SEX Education session led by our esteemed guest speakers: Dr. Kitika Uksornsri and Dr. Ployrung Pisutpaisarn, family medicine experts from Sunpasitthiprasong Hospital. The session aimed to educate students on important topics related to sexual development, behavior, and personal safety, fostering a positive and healthy understanding of sexuality.
For Grades 4-5, students learned about physical changes during puberty, personal hygiene, and the importance of understanding appropriate and inappropriate sexual behavior. They also gained skills in seeking help to prevent sexual abuse, as well as effective communication about family relationships and sexuality. Additionally, discussions on gender roles and building self-esteem were part of the session.
For Grades 6-8, the focus was on sexual development, including discussions on wet dreams, menstruation, and pregnancy. Students explored how to manage sexual emotions, navigate risky situations, and develop refusal and negotiation skills to prevent pregnancy. They were also educated on common misconceptions about sexuality, understanding the needs of the opposite gender, and using media responsibly to promote positive values.
This educational program empowers our students with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate their development safely and confidently. We are grateful to Dr. Uksornsri and Dr. Pisutpaisarn for their valuable insights and for promoting a healthy dialogue on such an essential topic.
